Welcome to the Ken Hemmings Specialist Dentistry website. We would welcome your referrals for any of the following:

  • Dental Implants
  • Prosthodontics
  • Perio-Prosthodontic work
  • Complex restorative cases such as severe toothwear and occlusal disorders
  • Cases requiring multidisciplinary care

I work regularly with other restorative specialists but also with consultants and specialists in Orthodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial surgery or medical disciplines. Some dental problems are best managed with multidisciplinary care.

We are understanding of day to day general practice and you can be confident that your patients will be treated to the highest standard. From first contact, you will be kept fully informed and updated on their progress. Your patients remain your patients.

How should I choose my specialist in Dentistry?

Ask the following questions:

  • Has your specialist been a consultant in the NHS? If so you can be sure that their training has been long and rigorous. UK trained consultants are very experienced in their chosen field.
  • Has your specialist had postgraduate training in the work you require such as implants and crowns etc.
  • Does your specialist offer to show you their results?
  • Can they tell you which risks apply to your case specifically?
  • Do you feel trust and confidence in their skills and expertise?
  • Have they been recommended to you by another dentist or patient?
  • Are they professional when dealing with you – not applying pressure on you to go ahead with the procedure?
  • Are their team sensitive, warm and helpful?

Radiographs and study casts are usually best sent with the patient to the consultation. Patients are usually seen at the practice. Ken has maintained admitting rights at the Chiltern Hospital but no longer holds regular clinics there.
